Another “Steam” character design for you lovelies.
Nurse Leezle Sands is assistant to the Doctor (not timey wimey doctors, just a normal Steam Punk doctor) aboard the ship where the adventures take place. She speaks solely German, so she is restricted to direct communication with the doctor or using very exaggerated expressions. Although she looks rather meek and timid, do not be fooled by her appearance. She is very formidable and is quite adept at holding her own against the Doctor’s tantrums. The two often have fierce arguments where only the doctor’s English can be understood by the crew. Because of this, it seems he is needlessly harsh with his criticisms and insults, although German speakers would understand that Leezle’s remarks just as bad. If it weren’t for her and her dedicated ways, it is quite unlikely that there would be as many patients surviving the Doctor’s off-kilter methods. If Nurse Leezle is not present in the infirmary much of the crew does not bother going in. All of this aside, Leezle does respect the Doctor; she just has a low tolerance for his uncouth personality.
Leezle had been working down in the trenches with the Doctor before the events in this story. When the two went AWOL they left for the airship which was offering a form of political immunity to whoever was daring enough to join. Because of this, Leezle and the doctor feel indebted to the ship and like they would do anything for her and her crew. Although Leezle can not speak directly to a lot of her fellow shipmates she is very creative with her body and facial vocabulary, making her one of the most expressive members on board. Also, she is a bit sensitive about her short stature. Although she is about 25 or 26 years old she is mistaken for being younger much too often for her liking.
